Platane Vitiligo
La série Platane Vitiligo est composée de quatre panneaux de bois.
Chacun associe des feuilles de platane parisien séchées, vernies de nacre et peintes à la gouache de taches de vitiligo, à une photographie issue d’un kaléidoscope filmant la peau d’un ami de l’artiste atteint de vitiligo.
La signature de l’artiste prend la forme d’un collage miniature de l’œuvre Tracker, qui permet d’accéder à la sculpture virtuelle Tracker AR via l’application AR FVT, développée par l’artiste et téléchargeable gratuitement sur l’App Store et Google Play.
L’écorce du platane parisien, avec ses fragments qui se détachent comme des squames, rappelle visuellement les taches du vitiligo.
Cette correspondance naturelle inspire l’œuvre et met en lumière une lecture sensible du monde végétal, souvent oubliée ou négligée par les laboratoires pharmaceutiques qui, pourtant, détiennent et exploitent ces savoirs.
En gemmothérapie, les bourgeons de platane sont traditionnellement utilisés pour apaiser les troubles cutanés, notamment le vitiligo, établissant un lien symbolique et thérapeutique entre l’arbre et la peau.
La mise en miroir des feuilles introduit une inquiétante étrangeté dans les compositions, où l’ordre organique se transforme en symétrie troublante.
Le dernier des quatre collages-peintures ajoute une dimension supplémentaire avec une évocation picturale inspirée des bourgeons de platane représentés sur la carte du Pendu du Tarot de Marseille. Ce lien symbolique prolonge la réflexion sur la guérison, la transformation et le temps suspendu.
En combinant collage, peinture, feuilles de platane et symbolisme ésotérique, Platane Vitiligo met en relation des savoirs anciens et des réalités contemporaines, et transforme la fragilité en une force visuelle et mémorielle.
Platane Vitiligo
The Platane Vitiligo series consists of four wooden panels.
Each one combines dried Parisian plane-tree leaves—varnished with mother-of-pearl and hand-painted with gouache vitiligo patterns—with a kaleidoscopic photograph capturing the skin of a friend of the artist affected by vitiligo.
The artist’s signature appears as a miniature collage of the work Tracker, which provides access to the virtual sculpture Tracker AR through the AR FVT application, developed by the artist and available for free on the App Store and Google Play.
The bark of the Parisian plane tree, with its flaking fragments reminiscent of scales, visually echoes the patches of vitiligo.
This natural correspondence inspires the work and reveals a sensitive reading of the vegetal world—often forgotten or overlooked by pharmaceutical laboratories that nonetheless hold and exploit such knowledge.
In gemmotherapy, plane-tree buds are traditionally used to soothe skin disorders, including vitiligo, establishing a symbolic and therapeutic connection between the tree and the skin.
The mirrored arrangement of the leaves introduces an uncanny strangeness into the compositions, where organic order shifts into troubling symmetry.
The last of the four collage-paintings adds an additional dimension through a pictorial element inspired by the plane tree buds depicted on the Hanged Man card of the Marseille Tarot. This symbolic connection extends the reflection on healing, transformation, and suspended time.
By combining collage, painting, plane tree leaves, and esoteric symbolism, Platane Vitiligo connects ancient knowledge with contemporary realities, transforming fragility into a force of visual and mnemonic power.
